About this challenge
Watch the video to learn how to participate or keep reading!
How it works
Come back every day (Monday to Friday) and a new question will be available for you (2pm GMT+1) in the file embedded below (link coming soon).
If you want to participate in the challenge, you have 24 hours to solve the question and submit your answer before a new question will be available. Answers recorded after the 24 hrs period will be tracked and recorded, but will not count as points for the challenge. Due to timezone differences +-1 results will be accepted.
The DAX Fridays! Original Northwind Company
IMPORTANT: Please note that the Power BI file is set to refresh at 2pm, so it will take around 15 to 20 minutes to show in this webpage.
How to participate:
Make sure you read the instructions so you don’t have any problem participating.
- Download MY version of the dataset here if you want to compare the results and be able to answer all questions. (I modified the original one a little bit)
- This time I will be available to answer your questions on the YouTube Community tab and Curbal Linkedin page. A new post will be added each day to answer your questions.
- Tag your solutions with hashtag #25DaysOfDAXFridays or #25daysofdaxfridays and #curbal if you want to share your progress on social media.
- IMPORTANT! When you share the answer on Social media, please do not share the DAX code, so others can have a chance to participate too. You will be able to share the code on the solution video and I truly encourage you to do so, so we can learn from each other.
- You can use Power BI or Excel, or any tool that allows you to run DAX queries.
- If you don’t manage to solve the challenge, the Power BI solution page will have a link to a video explaining how I calculated it.
- The level of difficulty varies. There are beginners and more advance questions.
- The DAX I use might not be the most beautiful or efficient, but my goal is that when the challenge is over you will have a method you can use for most of your DAX calculations.
- It is never too late to start the challenge, just do it.
- Have fun!
Prizes
It is more important to participate and learn than to win, so when the challenge is over, I will randomly pick 3 usernames that answered all the questions on time (right or wrong) and they will get to pick a course on my website for free.
Users that utilize AI to participate, are not eligible for the prizes.
Download my version of the dataset
I have modified the dataset slightly to be able to do some of the calculations, so please use this file for the challenge.
