Sort Y-axis in Power BI visuals
Did you know it is not possible to sort the Y-axis on Power BI visuals? But, there is a hack that will allow you to do that.
If you prefer to watch a video instead, click here:

In a previous video, I showed you how to create a bump /rank chart using Power BI, but one of the issues we had was the inability to sort the Y-axis.
1. Convert to negative numbers
The trick I showed you on that video was to to convert the Y-axis to negative numbers, by multiplying the rank (y-axis) by -1.

That did the trick, but we ended up hiding in the axis, as it was showing negative numbers.
2. Format the number back to a positive number
Thanks to the new formatting options, there is a possibility to turn those negative numbers to positive:
1 Go to the modeling pane
2 Find the column that defines the Y-axis
3 On the formatting section change it to Custom
4 and change $#,##0;($#,##0) to ,##0;#,##0

And that is all!!
3. Additional resources
If you want to have more flexibility around how your bump chart looks like, I recommend you to use charticulator to create them.
