It is world’s cup fever: FIFA world cup 2018 in Russia!!! And we dont want to miss anything right?
That is where Power BI comes to the rescue π
I am going to build a Power BI file to follow the world cup and I decided to show you how I create it while creating it π
Get Match and Group Data in Power BI
In this first video, I have downloaded in Power Bi the world cup data from FIFA world cup 2018 website.
I have downloaded and clean when the matches occur, the groups and the flags.

Matches Schedule
In this part 2, we will create our first report that will answer this questions:
1. When is my favourite group playing?
2. When is my country playing?
3. Which matches will be sent today and at what time?
….and much more.
Take a look at how that was created in the video below or download the pbix file at the bottom of the page:

Adjust for Local TimeZones using parameters
In Part3, I will show you how to adjust the match times for your local time using parameters:

Get Flags through inactive relationships
In part 4, I show you how to work with inactive relationships using DAX.

Get Knockout Phases
And in Part 5 video, I will show you how to download and visualize the knockout phases in Power BI.

Update the knockout Phases dynamically
In Part 6, we are going to make the knockout phase update dynamically when the games start:

Predict the World cup winners with PowerApps
Predict the world cup series with PowerApps. Download and install the app in just 10 minutes!!

Heyy .. regarding the hierarchy chart always collapsing, just go to the visual settings –> Node –> set the Node value to 4. Problem solved π
Awesome!
For some reason the file can’t be downloaded! I’m getting an error message “Unable to download file(s)”
Please try again, I just fixed the link1

Hi Ruth, Is there a way to create a dual axis line chart like excel in Power BI? For example in primary axis I would have a numeric measure showing a line chart and same in the secondary axis and in x axis I would have month-yyyy. I checked this link below https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Dual-Y-axis-in-Line-chart/td-p/120717
However I could not find a solution to this. I know this question is not relevant to this post but the email feature from this website is not working for me today.
